Filipina Table Tennis Player Josephine Medina Wins a Bronze Medal in Rio Paralympics

Table tennis player Josephine Medina give the Philippines its first medal in the 2016 Rio Paralympics early morning on Tuesday. Manila Time.

Medina take the bronze medal in women’s signle cass 8 division won by China’s Mao Jingdian. France’s Thu Kamkasimphou take home the silver medal.

Josephine Medina’s bronze win is the Philippine’s first medal since 2000 when Adeline Dumapong a powerlifter, bagged the bronze, the first medal for the Philippines, in the 2000 Sydney Paralympics.

In 2012 London Paralympic Games, Medina missed a podium finish, ranking fourth overall in her division.

Josephine Medina, a polio victim, win the gold medal in the ASEAN Para Games in Singapore in 2015.
