People go crazy over PF Chang’s chicken lettuce wraps. The super savory, slightly sweet dish is absolute must when you dine in a popular Chinese chain. What exactly is in the sauce make it good? Well never know, The secret Chiang recipe is listed on the menue, is basically locked up forever. But does not mean we cannot make something that is tastes close to it. or maybe even better.
Fresh ground black peeper
3 tablespoon hoisin sauce
2 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
Large leafy lettuce for serving
2 green onions, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tablespoon Sriracha
2 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
1/2 c water chestnuts, drained and sliced
1 oinion diced
1 lb ground chicken
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- Make the sauce, Whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, hoisin sauce, rice wine vinegar and Sriracha in a small bowl.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skiller over a medium high heat. Add the onions and sauté until it soft. Stir in the ginger and garlics and cook until it is fragrant, at least 30 seconds. Add the ground chicken and cook it until browned and mostly cooked, breaking up the meat with back of wooden spoon.
- Pour the sauce in and cook for about 1 t- 2 minutes more, tillthe sauce reduces slightly and the chicken is cooked completely. Turn off the heat and stir in the green onions and chestnuts. Season it with some salt and pepper.
- Spoon large scoop about 1/4 cup of chicken mixture in the center of each lettuce leaf. Serve immediatley.
