Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre on Thursday said that the amount raised from the alleged illegal drug trade inside the NBP when Sen. De Lima was the Secretary of Justice is estimate to be between P12 billion – P15 billion.
Vitaliano Aguirre said the amount is raised by peddling drugs nationwide under the management of high profile inmates.
Aguirre said they are just waiting for the second part of document coming from the AMLC.
Vitaliano said that they will evaluate if a complaint can already be filed against Sen. De Lima and other former officials of the DOJ.
“Pag dating sa testimonial and other evidence kumpleto na kami, kung probable cause ang pag uusapan sobra sobra na (i think we have enough of testimonial evidence and some other evidences.).” Vitaliano said.
The liable cause is the determination of whether there is sufficient ground to engender a well founded belief that is a crime has been done and that is the person probably guilty and should be heal for trials.
Vitaliano earlier claimed that based on initial documents give by the AMLC, illegal drug transaction between 500 million pesos and 1 billion pesos may have ended in Leila de Lima’s bank account.
Leila de Lima has denied the claim.
Nais ko lang tahiin ang bank records, gusto ko lang naman makita yung second report ng AMLC dahil hindi pa namin ito nakikita (I just want to unclude the bank records with it. I just want to see the second record of the AMLC because we still have not seen it.) Vitaliano said.
