Former Muntinlupa Mayor Aldrin San Pedro and eleven other will have to stand a trial for graft charge over the allegedly anomalous purchase of trolley bags in 2008.
This is after the Sandiganbayan denied the motions reconsideration filed by Anldrin and his co respondents and sustained the finding of prodable cause to put them into the trial.
Aldrin San Pedro and the former members of the Bids and Awards Comittee and Techinal Working Group are accuse of graft after the purchasing of 40 000 pieces trolley bags, woth 22 million pesos without a priod bidding. The trolley bags are supposed to be distributed to elementary student in some public schools in Muntinlupa City.
In a movement for reconsideration, Aldrin’s camp argued the case should be dismissed due to its absence of probable cause.
The motion add a public bidding before purchase was done, and the budget for the trolley bags included in 2008 executive budget augmentation.
But the Sandigan junked the motion, stating that there are no new matters raised by the accused.
Aldrin San Pedro and the other respondents are scheduled for arraignment on November 24 2016.
