The entire province of Cebu declared state of calamity dut to the rising dengue cases, which over 5,000 cases since the start of year 2016.
The declaration was embodied in resolution passed by Cebu Provincial Board, even without recommendation from the DOH.
Provincial Board Member Baricuatro Christopher, authored the resolution, said the calamity status would be maximize the use of resources and fund to stop or control the circulate of dengue.
Given the magnitude of the effect and the necessity to immediately address and prevent increasing dengue cases in the province.`
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) was push for the declaring after the Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported `dramatic` or `abnormal` increase of dengue cases from January to September this year 2016.
As of last week the number of cases grow up to 2 821 it is the highest record in the province.
The Provincial Health Office reported that 5 505 dengue cases were reported as of 24 September. More than 300 cases is been added in a just 3 weeks,
