Death Penalty Bill in Philippines. The house justice comittee approved the bill restoring the death penalty by 12 to 6 vote with 1 abstention.
Restoring the Death Penalty for crimes like illegal drug selling is one of the campaign promises of President Duterte.

8.) Serious Illegal Detention and Kidnapping
9.) Intimidation of Persons or Robbery with Violence
10.) Destructive Arson
12.) Importation of illegal drugs and controlled precursor and essential chemicals. Transportation, Sale, Trading, Dispensation, Distribution, and Administration of dangerous drugs.
13.) Maintenance of a dive, den or resort where any of dangerous drug is used or sold in any form.
14.) Manufacture of illegal drugs
15.) Possession of illegal/dangerous drugs
16.) Culture or Cultivation of plants classified as illegal/dangerous drugs
17.) Unlawful Prescription of Illegal/Dangerous Drugs
18.) Criminal liability of a public employee or officer for misapplication, misappropriation or failure to account for confiscated, surrendered illegal drugs, controlled precursors, plant sources of illegal/dangerous drugs and essential chemical/instruments or laboratory equipment including the proceeds obtained from the unlawful act commited.
