Balita Ngayon| Feb. 21, the buss crash in Tanay, Rizal has killed 15 people, including 13 students. Some 50 students from Bestlink College were on their way to go camping when the bus hit an electric post.

The Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED) suspends all field trips and educational tours in higher education institutions following a fatal bus crash involving students on Monday, Feb. 20.

CHED Commissioner Prospero de Vera had been seeking the move. He said a suspension would be necessary to properly investigate the accident and review the commission’s existing policies. He noted education tours and field trips are regulated under CHED Memorandum Order 17, which requires higher education to consult with students and discuss risk assessment procedures with parents.

As of Feb. 21, the buss crash in Tanay, Rizal has killed 15 people, including 13 students. Some 50 students from Bestlink College were on their way to go camping when the bus hit an electric post. CHED President Patricia Licuanan issued a statement, ensuring the commission would investigate the accident to check whether there was any violation of rules and policies.
