NO Pay-Per-View on Pacquiao fight in Australia

SPORTS| Welterweight champ Sen. Manny Pacquiao will defend his title on basic cable. Pacman’s upcoming bout against No. 1 contender Jeff Horn will be broadcast by ESPN, marking the famed Filipino boxer’s first fight on basic cable and his first non-pay-per-view fights since 2005.

The deal was announced June 19, and network president John Skipper calls it a “significant moment for ESPN and for boxing fans.” the fight will take place Sunday, July 2, in Horn’s hometown of Brisbane, Australia. Because of the drastic time difference, it’ll be broadcast live Saturday night in the United States.


It’s being billed as the “Battle of Brisbane,” and more than 55,000 fans are expected to fill Suncorp Stadium to witness it in person. Sen. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao 38 years old with the record of 59-6-2. Jeff Horn, meanwhile is almost ten years younger. While undefeated, he only has 17 professional fight under his belt.
